Wyoming

• Professional Ethics — 3 h
• Suicide Assessment or Intervention — 3 h

Home study: No cap - all 45 contact hours may be earned via home study/online. CE must have significant intellectual or practical content aimed at increasing competence within the licensed discipline. Business-related courses (BLS, Drugs in the Workplace, HIPAA) do not count toward the 45 hours.

Board notes: Administered by the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board under Chapter 14 of its Rules. The identical 45-hour rule (3 ethics + 3 suicide assessment/intervention) applies across all its license types (LCSW, CSW, CMHW, LPC, LMFT, LAT). Licenses expire every 2 years on the licensee's date of birth. As of 2026, non-audit renewals are by attestation; licensees selected for audit must submit certificates of completion. The board does not pre-approve CE providers.

Chapter 14 grants limited CE credit for board-approved activities such as teaching/presentation and attending a Board meeting.

Licenses renew every 2 years on the licensee's date of birth. Renewal is by attestation for non-audited licensees; the board does not pre-approve CE providers.

Wyoming

No specific subject mandates — general CE hours only.

Home study: No cap - all 30 hours may be online/home study; the rule does not distinguish delivery format. Hours must be earned during the 48 months immediately preceding the renewal date. At least 10 hours must be from APA- or NASP-approved program-designed activities; up to 20 hours may come from Wyoming Psychological Association (WPA) / Wyoming School Psychology Association (WSPA) approved activities.

Board notes: Regulated by the Wyoming Board of Psychology (separate from the Mental Health Professions Licensing Board). The Board's current rules were signed by the Governor and are effective October 2, 2025. The Board's official renewal page confirms that for the 2026-2027 renewal cycle licensees may use the existing requirement: 30 CE hours per 2-year cycle, obtained during the 48 months immediately preceding the renewal date, with a minimum of 10 hours from APA- or NASP-approved activities and up to 20 hours from WPA/WSPA-approved activities. There are NO mandated CE subject topics under the current rule - no required ethics, suicide or risk assessment course. IMPORTANT FORWARD-LOOKING CHANGE: the Board states that beginning with the 2028-2029 renewal cycle, NEW continuing education requirements in Chapter 18 of the Board's Rules & Regulations will apply. The Chapter 18 hour/topic breakdown could not be retrieved from the official rules database (rules.wyo.gov search is dynamic and returned no text; Justia/Cornell still index only the pre-October-2025 chapters 1-15), so it is not yet reflected in total_hours or required_topics - re-check before the 2028 cycle.

• Supervision — 3 hApplies only to certificants who supervise trainees/others. Currently 3 supervision CEUs per 2-year cycle; the BACB's 2027 requirements document states this increases to 4 supervision CEUs per cycle effective January 1, 2027.

Home study: BACB ACE recorded/online (learning) CEUs are broadly allowed; there is no Wyoming state-specific CE cap. Wyoming ties LBA renewal to maintaining active BACB certification, so the BACB CEU standard governs.

Board notes: Wyoming licenses behavior analysts (LBA) and assistant behavior analysts under the Board of Psychology; the Board states it was granted that authority in the 2022 Legislative Session, and the BACB U.S. licensure table lists Wyoming as licensed since 2022 with the WY Board of Psychology as regulator. No independent Wyoming CE hour schedule for LBAs could be located in the Board's published rule chapters or forms page; the Board's behavior-analyst application requires BACB certification, so the BACB recertification standard governs: 32 CEUs per 2-year cycle including at least 4 ethics CEUs, plus supervision CEUs for those who supervise. The psychologist 30-hour rule does NOT apply to LBAs. Confidence remains medium because no WY-specific LBA CE rule text could be retrieved from rules.wyo.gov. BACB change ahead: per the BACB '2027 BCBA Requirements' document, effective January 1, 2027 the maintenance standard remains 32 CEUs per 2-year cycle with 4 ethics CEUs, but the supervision requirement for supervisors rises from 3 to 4 CEUs per cycle. Also, since March 2025 the BACB's ethics-CEU definition covers events related to the BACB's ethics requirements and/or cultural/contextual responsiveness tied to behavior-analytic literature or practice.
